Former Brexit Party MEP Martin Daubney has claimed the “BBC is close to the end” after a damning poll found nearly half of Brits feel that the broadcaster does not reflect their views.  Mr Daubney made the dire forecast as he slammed the broadcaster for acting as the “Jehovah’s Witnesses of broadcasting” and failing to listen to viewers. The damning comments come after a survey by YouGov discovered 44 percent of people felt the BBC did not represent their values, with the number rising to 58 percent among those who voted for Brexit.

Mr Daubney, who now hosts the online show Unlocked, told TalkRadio’s Kevin O’Sullivan: “Half of Brits now feel the BBC doesn’t represent them and that is going down really really fast.

“33 per cent say it represents them less than this time a year ago and only four per cent say it represents them more.

“When you dive into the detail 58 per cent of Brexit voters say they feel represented less, 51 per cent of the North. Only 4 per cent of people say they feel more presented by the BBC.

“What happened Kevin in 2016 that changed this opinion, the Brexit vote.

Mr Daubney continued: “For four years we have had this Remainic nonsense fed to us that was the beginning of the end for the BBC.

“I’ve thought about this long and hard Kevin, is there a way out of this, I don’t think there is for the BBC.

“Because I believe that they are the kind of Jehovah’s Witnesses of broadcasting. They believe the rest of us are non-believers who need to be converted, educated, enlightened to the values of inclusivity, diversity and all that nonsense that they subscribe too.

“And people are switching off in record numbers.”

This poll showed a slump in confidence in the BBC.

In the north of England, 51 percent of those involved in the poll felt their values were not represented.

The poll also revealed that 47 percent of Scottish residents felt badly represented.

The BBC has come under scrutiny over its bias with several calling for the Corporation to axe the licence fee and replace it with a private subscription.

The corporation has also been facing persistent criticism after announcing over-75s would no longer get access to their services without having to pay a licence fee.

The decision pushed the Government into launching a review on the future of the BBC amid the changing media environment providing viewers with alternative means of entertainment and information.
