Britons can now find out what tier they will be put into after lockdown ends on December 2. Thousands of people have been placed in higher tiers compared to their pre-lockdown status. But how can you check your postcode right now?
Most of England is expected to be placed in the two toughest tiers of coronavirus restrictions when the national lockdown ends next Wednesday.
HEalth Secretary Matt Hancock will address the nation from the House of Commons to speak about the new tiers later today.
But Britons are able to find out which tier they have been put into right now.
You can use this postcode checker tool to find out what tier you are in now.
The current national restriction rules are still in place until December 2, but from midnight the rules will change to the three tier system.
In Tier 3, for areas with a very high or very rapidly rising level of infections, this will mean little change.
Rules include a ban on meeting people you don’t live with either indoors or at “most outdoor places” – including your garden.
Outdoors places where you can meet up, provided you follow the Rule of Six, includes parks, beaches, countryside accessible to the public, a public garden, grounds of a heritage site or castle, or a sports facility.
Bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants will have to close – although they can continue to provide takeaway or delivery services.
Hotels, B&Bs, campsites, and guest houses must also close.
