The Queen made sure to give a “nice nod” to her granddaughter-in-law during her Christmas Day Message. The monarch highlighted much of the work that had been done in the UK through the year, including that of Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge. Royally Obsessed podcast hosts Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie discussed the special mention in the annual Royal Family speech.
Ms Fiorito told listeners: “The speech was very multimedia savvy this time.
“As she was speaking, we saw clips of Kate and William’s engagements and Sophie’s engagements.
“There were even some photos from Hold Still.
“I thought it was a nice nod to Kate’s project that she included Hold Still photos as well, I really liked that.”

Ms Bowie added: “There was the one in the chapel with all the printed photos of the church-goers.
“There was also one of the healthcare workers in PPE.
“A lot of them I really recognised because Kate and highlighted them a lot as well.”
‘Hold Still’ was a photography submission the Duchess launched in May to capture a snapshot of the nation during lockdown.
A panel of judges then selected 100 for a special digital exhibition.
The final 100 images were displayed on billboards in towns and cities across the UK during October and November.
Many appeared in the home towns of the photographers themselves.
All of the selected works were also displayed in a digital exhibition in the National Memorial Arboretum grounds from October to December.
As mentioned, some of them were used in the Queen’s Christmas speech video overlay.
