William and Kate caused a global sensation when they announced their engagement on November 16, 2010. The Prince had proposed the month before whilst the couple were on a trip in Kenya.

They were married on April 29, 2011 in a ceremony watched by hundreds of millions around the world.

After their engagement announcement William and Kate sat down for an interview with royal reporter Tom Bradby.

Asked whether she’d had posters of William on her wall as a youth Kate said: “He wishes! No. No, I had the Levis guy on my wall, not a picture of William. Sorry!”

In response William jokingly replied: “Well, it was me in Levis, obviously!”

Kate and William met in 2001 whilst both were studying at St Andrews University in Scotland.

After a period as friends, they formally began dating in 2003.

The couple did briefly breakup in 2007 but were swiftly reconciled.

Describing this time William later commented: “We were both very young, we were both finding ourselves and being different characters.

The Duke and Duchess are currently living at Anmer Hall, their home in Norfolk.

They moved here from London shortly before the most recent coronavirus lockdown was imposed.

William caught coronavirus last spring but swiftly made a full recovery.

However, unlike when Prince Charles caught the disease, this information was only made available to the public in November.

William explained this was done to avoid triggering undue public alarm.
