The two bodies were discovered in Dagenham this afternoon.
The woman in her 30s was found on Whalebone Lane South at 12.50pm today.
At 2.50pom, police discovered a man also in his 30s on Gosfield Road.
Police now consider the two deaths to be linked.
The police and London Amubalnce Service both attended the scene.
A police spokesperson said: “Police were called at approximately 12.50hrs on Saturday, August 8 to Whalebone Lane South, Dagenham to reports of a person found unresponsive.
“Officers and the London Ambulance Service and a female – aged in her 30s – was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is being treated as suspicious.
“We are in the process of tracing and informing next of kin.”
