The current tail-back caused by the accident comes after long delays on the same section of motorway one week ago. On October 6 the M1 southbound had one lane shut. This was just after J8 at Hemel Hempstead due to a jacknifed lorry.
The A414 was also closed from J8 due to a separate incident. Causing queues back to J10 at Luton airport.
