There is “no chance” that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will become senior working royals again, royal commentators have claimed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s one-year review is coming up in March with the Queen. Royally Obsessed podcast hosts Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie discussed what could change in the exit deal.

Ms Bowie told listeners: “March is the end of the royals’ fiscal year, I believe.

“We don’t think there’s any chance they even want to be senior working members of the Royal Family.

“But it is interesting that they have, in a way, distanced themselves from that.

“When they exited last January it was such a rush announcement.”

She continued: “They really pulled the rug out from everyone.

“Even their website launch, nobody was aware of that.

“So I think this one-year review is more of a chance to kind of update and tweak things.

“There won’t be anything like them being told they need to come crawling back.”

As part of the initial Sandringham agreement last year, the Sussexes agreed to drop their HRH titles.

Harry also had to give up three of his officially military appointments.

Royal commentators like Richard Fitzwilliams have suggested that the spring review could see some of these reinstated.

Mr Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “I think that [Harry] would much appreciate it if his military links were restored to him. He probably hopes that they will be when they review the deal next year.

“No one currently holds those posts after all so this may be on the most likely changes to their arrangement.”
