Royal commentator Omid Scobie addressed many of the concerns and rumours surrounding Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. Mr Scobie’s book on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s time in the Royal Family, Finding Freedom, claims to debunk many of the misconceptions of the royal couple. While speaking to Deborah Roberts on Good Morning America, Mr Scobie addressed the idea that in the build up to her wedding day, Meghan was difficult and caused Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, to break down in tears.

Ms Roberts said: “The story of Kate breaking down in tears at the wedding and Meghan being difficult, is that true?”

Mr Scobie struggled to hold back a grin as he responded to the question.

He said: “When I spoke to the people who were actually there and involved the first thing they all said was there were no tears.

“That story could not be further from the truth.”

Mr Scobie continued to laugh while giving his answer.

Ahead of the book’s release, August 11 2020, royal commentators have reflected on some extracts from the books and what it reveals about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s relationship with the rest of the royals.

Royal Rota hosts Lizzie Robinson and Chris Ship insisted that Meghan Markle was upset at the public falling out with the Royal Family, most notably Kate.

Ms Robinson said: “If you looked at things from William and Kate’s view they did invite the Sussexes to spend Christmas with them at Anmer Hall.

“There were occasions where they were reaching out.

“One of the saddest things is that these family issues are being aired so publicly.

“Another line from the book’s extracts was about how Meghan talked about how she told somebody she had given up her entire life for this family.

“She said how sad it was that it hadn’t worked out.”

The Royal Rota host also claimed the book indicated Kate did not do enough to repair the struggling relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry.

Ms Robinson said: “The book talks about how Kate did little to bridge the divide between the two brothers.

“It also talks about how Kate’s relationship with Meghan never really got off the starting bloc.

“We know that Meghan and Kate are very different people, that is obvious.”
