In July of that year she went on to meet Prince Harry, now her husband. Meghan initially shot to fame as an actress staring in US legal drama Suits.

However, she also maintained a popular lifestyle and food blog called The Tig.

In a post at the beginning of 2016, she wrote: “For this new year, the only thing I aim to do is to approach life playfully.

“To laugh and enjoy, to keep my standards high but my level of self-acceptance higher.”

Harry and Meghan met at a bar in London’s Soho after being setup on a blind date by a mutual friend.

After a period of courting the couple announced their engagement in November 2017.

Their wedding took place the following May in front of a global audience of hundreds of millions.

The couple tied the knot in Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel.

Meghan also used her blog to reveal her New Year’s resolutions for 2014.

In January of 2020 the Sussexes’ caused a global sensation by announcing their intention to step down as senior members of the Royal Family.

Instead, the couple said they wanted to become “financially self-sufficient” and to split their time between North America and Britain.

They attended their final official royal engagement, the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey, in March.

Following a brief stay in Canada the couple moved to California, Meghan’s home state, shortly before coronavirus lockdown was imposed.

They later moved to a new £11.2million home in Santa Barbara, north of Los Angeles.

The luxury property came complete with a swimming pool, tennis court and children’s cottage.

In September Meghan and Harry announced they had agreed a mega deal with streaming giant Netflix.

The couple will produce films, documentaries and children’s shows for the streaming giant.

Meghan is not expected to return to her acting roots though there is speculation both Sussexes’ could make on camera appearances in some of their documentaries.

The Duke and Duchess also agreed a podcast deal with Spotify releasing their first episode, a Christmas special, in December.
