Meghan and Harry made their exit from the Royal Family on March 31, and have since moved to sunny Santa Barbara in California. The former Duchess has been tipped to make a return to acting by Hollywood insiders and agents, but the couple have remained tight-lipped on new ventures. Now reports have revealed that the couple have been pitching an idea for a project around Hollywood since June, according to Variety.

According to reports, network executives met with the couple in June.

Rather than see Meghan return to acting, Hollywood insiders told Variety that the couple want to joint-produce their project.

Details on what Meghan and Harry’s “secret project” is about have not been confirmed.

It is also unclear whether the project would be a TV series or a movie.

NBCUniversal’s top executives held a meeting with the former Duke and Duchess, according to the report.

Insiders said that Bonnie Hammer, chairman of NBCUniversal Content Studios, was in the meeting with the former royals.

Ms Hammer is an acquaintance of Meghan’s from her years acting in Suits.

But representatives of the network would not comment on the report.

Harry has also taken to screens since leaving the Royal Family, in a partnership with Oprah Winfrey.

The pair are working on an Apple TV+ docuseries about mental health, which was announced in 2019.

Harry has also appeared in a trailer for Netflix’s Rising Phoenix, a documentary on the Paralympic Games, which will be released by the end of August.

Variety reported that representatives from Disney, Apple and Netflix did not confirm whether the former royals pitched their project to them.

However Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s chief content officer, said in January nobody “wouldn’t be interested” in working with the former royals.

Meghan and Harry’s Hollywood pitch comes after they signed to a high profile agency in June.

The Harry Walker Agency represents former US president Barack Obama and and former First Lady Michelle Obama.

The agency focuses on securing it’s clients public speaking appearances.

Tom Kenyon-Slaney, chairman of the London Speaker Bureau, told the Times the couple could charge as high as “$1 million for a live appearance for one of them”.
