The Duchess of Sussex’s latest appearance shows her sitting in a back yard as she speaks with Ms Steinem, who became remarkable in the fight for women’s rights. The talk was filmed and shared by MAKERS Women, a platform supporting women by amplifying their voices and sharing their stories.

For the relaxed Q&A, Meghan chose an elegant pinstripe suit, which she accessorised with a Vanessa Leoné hat.

The outfit, made up by designs created by Los Angeles based female designers Anine Bing and Janessa Leoné, shows how committed the Duchess is to supporting female voices in her hometown.

She completed the look with a pair of “Rhea” sandals from Stella McCartney, who was one of the designers who took part in the creation of her wedding dress.

Her all-female designed outfit reflected the Duchess’ viewpoint when it comes to giving women a platform, a subject she and Ms Steinem extensively discussed about during the conversation.

Both women highlighted the importance of women voting, with Meghan quoting Ms Steinem’s popular slogan, “If you don’t vote, you don’t exist”, at the beginning of her opening piece for MAKERS.

The Duchess wrote: “These words from Gloria Steinem have stuck with me since she first spoke them during this conversation.

“Throughout our friendship, we’ve spoken of our shared beliefs surrounding women’s rights, the need for representation and the very timely conversation on voting.

“I firmly believe that we vote to honour those who came before us and to protect those who come after us. Ms Steinem, my friend Gloria, is one of the women I honour when I vote.

“The heart of the Democratic party has been Black women, actually, and now there is a potential Vice President who is Black and that’s exciting.”

Meghan added: “I’m so excited to see that kind of representation.

“You know, for me, being biracial, growing up, whether it was a doll or a person in office, you need to see someone who looks like you in some capacity.

“As many of us believe, you can only be what you can see.
