The Duchess was scheduled to appear in court for her lawsuit against the Mail on Sunday in January 2021. But new reports claim Meghan has pushed for the trial to take place in the autumn next year. The delay has led to royal fans speculating whether the Sussexes are expecting another baby next year. Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, their first child, was born on May 9, 2019

Harper’s Bazaar reported that Meghan request a nine month delay in the legal proceedings against the Mail on Sunday.

The Duchess sued the outlet after a series of stories about her father and the publication of private letters in 2019.

The report claimed Meghan’s postponement request was granted after her legal team detailed why it was needed.

Bazaar.com claimed the delay request was based on “a confidential ground”, and a specific date for the new trial will come closer to the time.

But after the trial was pushed back, social media caught ablaze with speculation Meghan and Harry are expecting their second child.

One Twitter user said: “9 months, Megan must be pregnant and doesn’t want stress during the pregnancy. I betcha that’s the secret reason.”

More reaction came in, but suggesting the delay might just be a precaution against coronavirus.

One user said: “I think we’d know if Meghan was pregnant again. Harry would be in all the zoom calls.

Another added: “Considering the ongoing Covid pandemic this is probably a wise decision to put back on trial date until the Autumn.”

The news of the delay came as bookies slashed the odds that Meghan and Harry would have the next royal pregnancy from 5/4 to 4/6.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “It seems certain that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will add to their family and we make it odds on they announce before the end of the year that they are expecting.”

Ladbroke’s Alex Apati added: “With plenty of rooms to fill in their new pad it seems only inevitable Harry and Meghan will have at least one more child.

“And a brother or sister for Archie could even come in the next 12 months if the latest odds are anything to go by.”

DON’T MISS

Harry has previously expressed his want for another child, but would want too big a family.

Last year, the Duke of Sussex said in an interview with activist Jane Goodall he wants two children “maximum”.

He added, referencing conservationism: “I’ve always thought: this place is borrowed.

“And, surely, being as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation.”
