The fashion expert, who regularly contributes to Good Morning America, posted a photo of herself to the social media platform yesterday. However, observers took to the comment section of the post to criticise the Canadian stylist for posting a photo of herself on Remembrance Day.

One said: “Always remember the veterans as well. Would have been nice to see you acknowledge them, as opposed to some self-promotion!”

Ms Mulroney replied to the comment, saying she has “so much respect for veterans and I am involved in many fundraisers”. The stylist added: “I apologise truly”.

She followed up with: “Now let’s go on everyone’s feed who hasn’t posted and shame them all.”

The fashion expert then provided links to two veteran’s charities – Legion.ca and CanadaHelps.org – in her Instagram stories, The Star reports.

She added the message: “For those who believe an Instagram post makes the biggest difference. Try something new. Donate and swipe up!”

Some followers responded positively to Ms Mulroney’s initial photo, with one saying she looked “stunning”.

Under the photo of the comment, Ms Mulroney wrote: “I’m not claiming I’m a victim. But imagine receiving messages like this 40 times a day for years.”

This year, there has been speculation about the relationship between Ms Mulroney and friend Meghan Markle.

According to Hello!, there were reports their friendship was strained after Ms Mulroney was involved in row with blogger Sasha Exeter earlier this year.

Ms Exeter claims Ms Mulroney had, at one point, “took offence” to a post in which the blogger encouraged social media users with large followings to post about the Black Lives Matter movement, because Ms Mulroney believed it was aimed at her, The Cut reports.

Observers speculated the argument also led to Ms Mulroney being distanced from Meghan.

However, the fashion expert appeared to deny this, at one point referring to the matter as “tabloid fake news” in the comment section of an Instagram post.

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry remain in the US having stepped down from senior royal duties in March this year.

The two were recently pictured paying respects to fallen soldiers as part of a personal remembrance service they held in Los Angeles Nation Cemetery.

They currently live in the Californian region of Santa Barbara, having moved there from LA in the summer.
