The UK has recorded 23,065 cases and 280 new deaths from coronavirus yesterday, with experts warning of a bleak winter ahead. Nottingham, which has seen a sharp rise in coronavirus cases over the past weeks, has now been placed into tier three restrictions to curb the spread of the virus. But pub patrons have been filmed taking to the streets ahead of the new rules for the city.

Social media footage showed a pub chanting “f*** tier 3” as the curfew drew closer.

Other footage showed revellers taking to streets after pubs closed to dance and drink.

One clip on Twitter showed police officers surrounded by flouters while attempting to disperse a large crowd of young people.

Another clip showed a swarm of people dancing in St James Street in the city centre.

Twitter users condemned the scenes, with one user calling the flouters “daft b******”.

Another Twitter user said: “Students returning, the decline was always going to happen whatever.”

Another added: “I hate Nottingham sometimes, in fact all the time”

But others blamed the Government for the scenes, with one user saying: “Thing is, if we had a likeable leader and Government this wouldn’t happen.”
