Next week, US citizens will vote for the next President of the United States and throughout the campaign Mr Trump has been lagging behind Democratic candidate Joe Biden.

In two recent polls by Washington Post and ABC, Mr Biden leads Mr Trump narrowly in Michigan with 51 percent to 44 percent.

And in Wisconsin, the Democrat significantly beat the Republican 57 percent to 40 percent.

The Good Morning Britain co-host and close friend to Mr Trump warned the President is in “serious trouble” if these polls are accurate.

Mr Morgan tweeted: “Wow… if that Wisconsin poll number is anywhere near correct, Trump’s in very serious trouble…”

The polls also found Mr Biden leads Mr Trump by 24 points among female votes in Michigan and by 30 points in Wisconsin.

Along with Pennsylvania, these two states are seen as vitally important to both president and the former vice president during the campaign.

Back in 2016, Mr Trump carried all three states, shocking Democrats who enjoyed victories there.

Just last week, Mr Morgan revealed Mr Trump called him to share secret to the US election win.

More than 56.1 million Americans have cast early ballots across the country either in person or by mail.

The pace of voting could lead to the highest voter turnout rate in more than a century, according to data from the US Elections Project.

While Mr Biden is the 1/2 favourite with bookmaker Coral to win next month’s election, there has been a surge in last-minute betting support for the President.

Bookmakers Coral have found 75 percent of the bets they have taken over the last seven days have been for Mr Trump who stands at 13/8.

Coral spokesman John Hill said: ”Although Donald Trump is the outsider in our betting to win the US presidential election, that has not put punters off backing him.

“75 percent of the bets we have taken over the last seven days have been for the current president.”

While Mr Biden is leading in the opinion pills, the race is much closer in the crucial battleground of so-called swing states.

Mr Trump trails Mr Biden in the national polls but this does not determine who sits in the White House.

It is the 538 members of the Electoral College who do this, the winner needs 270 votes in the college to become president.
