Prince Charles sneaks up on Princess Anne in 2018

The Prince of Wales walks behind his sister and surprises her in the clip, which was recorded at an event in one of the royal palaces. The Princess Royal turns around grinning and the pair have an animated conversation. Charles can be seen making large gestures, while Anne giggles.

Comments underneath the video noted how touching it is that the pair are still so close, especially now Charles is 72 and Anne is 70 years old.

One commenter said: “Nice to be reminded that they’ve been brother and sister for 70 years.”

Another said: “It’s a blessing to reach that age and still have your Mum and siblings. They are truly blessed.”

A third agreed, saying: “Those two siblings are still as close as ever.”

The video, which was uploaded to YouTube, appears to show Charles and Anne at a formal event with other royals including the Queen, Prince Harry and Prince Andrew.

Users of the social media platform noted that it highlights the pair’s sense of humour.

One said: “He has a great sense of humour, they are obviously close! Love them.”

Another said: “Videos like this are important because too many people think the royals are ‘stuffed shirts’ who have no fun and show no personal affection or emotion towards anyone. And that’s far from true.”

Yet another pointed out that the royals looked “just like children misbehaving”.

Several royal fans made a joke of it themselves, with one commenting that Charles has “always been good at sneaking”.

Another said it “would have been more awesome had Her Majesty come over and clipped him on the ear”.

The video was uploaded in 2018, back when the Royal Family were able to meet for events like this.

At the moment, they are scattered around the country unable to see each other, just like every family up and down the UK amid the coronavirus pandemic.

At the moment, the Queen, 94, and Prince Philip, 99, are Windsor Castle, where they have been shielding due to their age.

In good news, both Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh have now received their first dosage of a coronavirus vaccine, although it has not been revealed which one.

Meanwhile, Prince Charles and Camilla are at Highgrove in Gloucestershire and Prince William and Kate are at Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

Prince Charles speaks at One Planet Summit

This year, it has been difficult for the Royal Family to do their work, due to Covid-19 restrictions.

However, they have all started doing virtual engagements via video calls and phone calls, quickly adapting to the new circumstances.

Pod Save the Queen is hosted by Ann Gripper and features Daily Mirror royal editor Russell Myers.

Mr Myers claimed it was Prince William who initially came up with the idea of doing Zoom calls, but quickly got his father on board.

He said: “Charles and William were actually the two that put their heads together ‒ actually William was coming up with it first and saying, ‘We need to take this on a digital platform.

“They’re the guys who had a decent social media team, they’re quite young. Am I allowed to call them young?

“So they were the tech savvy ones, they knew the reach you can have on social media and said, ‘Right, let’s get involved straight away’.

“Then Charles, who was already carrying out all his meetings on video calls, knew that he could do exactly the same thing and then got fully involved with it after a conversation with William.”
