Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, 38, has revealed her children’s disappointment at not getting to meet Sir David Attenborough. In a new clip to promote ITV’s Prince William: A Planet For Us All programme, the Duchess is captured telling Sir David that Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, two, are ‘massive fans!’.

Prince William, 38, is following in the footsteps of his eco-conscious father Prince Charles’s, 71, with a new programme about climate change.

The Prince stars in a special new documentary to champion global action on conservation and climate change.

‘Prince William: A Planet For Us All’ will air on ITV and ITV Hub this October.

A promotional clip of the programme shows the moment William and Kate got to meet celebrated conservationist, Sir David Attenborough.

William added: “You want to hand over to the next generation. The wildlife in a much better condition.

“So two years ago a film crew joined me on my search for ways to protect the natural world.”

On Monday Prince Charles issued a stark warning about climate change during a speech to mark the opening of Climate Week NYC.

In his address, the future king said: “Without swift and immediate action, at an unprecedented pace and scale, we will miss the window of opportunity to ‘reset’ for… a more sustainable and inclusive future.”

Charels added: “[The environmental] crisis has been with us for far too many years – decried, denigrated and denied.

“It is now rapidly becoming a comprehensive catastrophe that will dwarf the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.”

According to a body language expert, Charles’s gestures in the pre-recorded speech convey ‘sadness’ and ‘huge regret.’

Analyst Judi James said:  “He rocks back and forward on his feet as he talks to suggest subtle emotion and, with his arms held to his sides and his chest slightly puffed, he keeps his gesticulation to a minimum.

“There is no Meghan-style hand-to-chest gestures to illustrate strong emotion, but as he speaks about the ‘disrupted planet’ his micro-gestures do display sadness, with a long blink and with his mouth bowing inward to show huge regret.”
