The Duke of Sussex also showed off his new haircut while recording the video for the Trailwalker Relay 2020 launch. Prince Harry said the pandemic has the world “pitted against a new challenge”.
The Duke spoke from what looked to be his new £11million Santa Barbara house which he recently bought with his wife Meghan Markle.
Behind him, viewers can see windows which open out onto a green space and a luscious green plant.
The royal couple have been living in the US since March.
The 100km trek in support of the Gurkha Welfare Trust and Oxfam, began earlier this week.
Prince Harry spoke to participants of the relay during the video message.
He said: “With COVID-19, the world has been pitted against a new challenge.
“One that is devastating and destructive in its own right.”
The Duke added: “The Gurkha Welfare Trust and Oxfam are working together to provide PPE (personal protective equipment), establish hand washing facilities and support public education.

“And with every step you take, just remember, you are helping those who need it most.”
Prince Charles is a patron for the UK charity The Gurkha Welfare Trust.
The charity works to help Gurkha veterans, their widows and communities, to live in dignity in Nepal.
Prince Harry travelled to Nepal after an earthquake hit the country in 2015.
In a video clip, he said he was pleased to see the people’s “resilience never weakened” after the disaster.
Prince Harry’s video came after the Sussexes signed a £112million production deal with Netflix.
The royal couple are set to make documentaries, films and children’s shows for the online streaming giant.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said they hoped to make content “that informs but also gives hope”.
As parents to their one-year old son Archie, the couple also plans to make “inspirational family programming”.
Just a few days after the deal was announced, the Sussexes revealed that they have paid back the full £2.4million spent on their UK home, Frogmore Cottage.
