In a letter posted to his Twitter account, the Duke of Edinburgh wrote: “I commend all teachers and school staff for your resolute commitment throughout the year to teaching our children and young people in the most challenging conditions. As Patron of the Chartered College of Teaching, I wish to thank you all for your selfless decidation and send you my best wieshes for a well-deserved break over Christmas and the New Year.”

Kayla Adams responded: “Lovely message to teachers, we appreciate you all! Hard work, especially this year.”

Another Twitter user added: “Thank you Prince Philip, it’s truly been challenging throughout but all the school staff have banded together.”
