Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight that the Queen has regular video calls with Prince Harry and that the Monarch is always delighted to see her great-grandson Archie. The royal commentator added that despite the Duke of Sussex moving to LA with Meghan Markle his relationship with Queen Elizabeth II has not changed.

Ms Nicholl said: “Harry is in touch with his father the Prince of Wales and he is in quite regular contact with the Queen.

“She is always delighted to see Archie on video calls and it is very important to her that she touches base with Harry.

“She is in touch with them, she knows what is going on in their lives, they discuss their plans with her.

“Harry has always seen his grandmother as a mentor.

“While he might be in LA that has not changed.”

Last week a royal commentator stated that the Queen could demand more control over Meghan Markle and Prince Harry when the couple and the Monarch enter crunch talks regarding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s role within the Royal Family.

The Queen and the Sussexes are set to hold a review regarding Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s relationship with the monarchy.

During the HeirPod podcast, royal commentators Maggie Rulli and Omid Scobie discussed the possible outcomes of the crunch talks.

“So could the Palace by any chance come to them and say we want a different relationship with you after these 12 months, we want more control, is that also a possibility?”

Mr Scobie replied: “I think as we have seen anything is possible in this situation.

“But this really was the Queen wanting to leave the door open to the couple so that they can find their feet and come back 12 months later.

“If things need to change or anything needs to be discussed, it can be.”
