The Queen will have to go for a second dose of the coronavirus vaccine, but she will not be revealing when, according to a royal commentator.

Daily Mirror Royal Editor Russel Myers spoke to ITV’s Lorraine Kelly about the Palace’s confirmation that both the monarch and Prince Philip had been administered the important jab.

However, he added that the medical details will be kept hidden, including which of the approved vaccines she was given.

He told viewers: “She doesn’t want people saying ‘I want the vaccine the Queen has had’.”

According to the NHS, the second dose can be given between three and 12 weeks after the first.

The second dose completes the course and is likely to be important for longer-term protection.
