The Battle of Britian service at Westminster Abbey has taken place today.
The 11am service was held by Dr David Hoyle, the Dean of Westminster Abbey, and included an act of remembrance for the 1,497 pilots and aircrew killed in the battle.
The memorial service was followed by a procession of flags, readings, prayers and music.
A flypast over Westminster Abbey oncluded the event at the end of the service.
