The Duke of Sussex is understood to have been hoping to return to the UK for a face-to-face meeting with his grandmother. But Harry has been forced to scrap his plan due to a ban on non-essential travel amid the latest lockdown.

Royal sources told the Mirror that Harry has “not yet attempted to contact” the Queen but is expected to arrange a solution in the coming weeks.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to be keen to increase the period before they cut all ties with the Royal Family.

Harry and Meghan Markle are living in a mansion in California with their young son Archie after quitting royal duties last March.

The couple has since signed lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify.

As part of the Megxit deal, the Queen’s grandson and the ex-Suits star agreed to “continue to uphold the values of Her Majesty”.

But questions have been raised after chat show host Oprah Winfrey took to Instagram to promote instant oat milk lattes Meghan has invested in.

7.30am update: William ‘worried’ over Harry ‘exploiting Diana status’ for Archewell

Prince William “will be unhappy” that Prince Harry seems to be “exploiting Princess Diana’s status”, a royal expert has predicted.

The Duke of Cambridge could become “worried” if Prince Harry uses their late mother on his Archewell Foundation’s website, royal author Phil Damphier claimed.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Mr Damphier said Harry’s apparent omission of Prince Charles’ work in his charity’s website could be “significant” for the brothers.
