Buckingham Palace confirmed on Tuesday Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s son was born at 8.55am and weighed 8lbs 1oz. A statement from the Palace said Sarah was “delighted with the news”, with the Duchess breaking her silence the same day.

Sarah’s first appearance since her daughter’s due date was on her YouTube channel, where she reads children’s books.

Two clips were posted to her Fergie and Friends channel, with the first coming on Wednesday.

Tuesday’s video saw the Duchess read out Sniff: Unicorn Fart Book by Buddy and Barney.

Another video yesterday saw Sarah share how to make unicorn magnets.

Sarah added to US Weekly: “This book will be dedicated to my first grandchild.

“I am bringing out one children’s book a month for the next 12 months to create a lovely library for my grandchildren. …

“I feel like the luckiest person ever when I can bring a smile to a child’s face.”
