Why was Prince Edward wearing military medals?

While Prince Edward did not complete his Royal Marines training he still holds several honorary military posts.

These ceremonial roles include the Royal Honorary Colonel of the Royal Wessex Yeomanry, Commodore-in-Chief of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Royal Colonel of 2nd Battalion, The Rifles, Honorary Air Commodore of Royal Air Force Waddington and Royal Honorary Colonel of the London Regiment.

While Edward’s medals could not be seen clearly during Wednesday’s service he holds several honorary medals.

He has the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee medal, Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee medal and Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal.
