Stevenage panic: Bomb disposal team rush after hand grenade discovered – homes evacuated | UK | News (Reports)


Officers were called at 9.13am this morning to reports of a suspected military hand grenade found by a member of the East of England Ambulance Service at a property on Sandown Road.

The house and neighbouring properties were evacuated.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal officers are on their way to assess the device.

Sandown Road has been closed while the incident is dealt with.

People in neighbouring properties have been able to return to their homes.
