The arch-Remainer and campaigner, has admitted the former Labour leader stopped any rational argument for the campaign. Although Ms Miller attempted to defy the Brexit voters, she revealed the Remain camp did not have a chance of attempting to reduce Boris Johnson’s majority in Parliament. In a piece for the New European, Ms Miller admitted the “odds were stacked against us”.

She added: “As civic organisations, the odds were stacked massively against us, and so often when I addressed rooms full of potential supporters, I saw that the terror so many people had of Corbyn outweighed any rational arguments I could make.

“Asking voters to tactically vote for Labour whilst reassuring them that the data showed there would not be a Labour majority government was just too enormous an ask.”

Now the UK has left the transition period, Ms Miller has also admitted any attempt to rejoin the EU is a waste of time.

Although activists and some Labour officials have declared their pursuit to rejoin the EU, Ms Miller admitted the time has now past for any attempt to re-enter the bloc.

Due to the pandemic and damaged cause by Brexit, Ms Miller claimed the country is now “exhausted”.

She told Times Radio: “I think it is a complete waste of energy to even consider that at the moment.

“We’re an exhausted country and also one in the middle of a pandemic.

“Let us deal with the pandemic, let us hold this Government to account.

In contrast, the Labour party lost 59 seats and finished with just 203 MPs in Parliament.

Armed with his new majority, Mr Johnson was able to push ahead with his Brexit plans and agreed the withdrawal agreement the following January.

Since the turn of the year, Mr Johnson has been praised for agreeing a Brexit deal after months of intense negotiations.

Despite being praised, there have been some teething problems which have been experienced at ports in Northern Ireland.

Many businesses have experienced disruption to trade due to Brexit and the resulting additional paperwork.

There have also been problems for Scottish fishermen attempting to export produce to the continent.

The Government, however, has declared that it is working to resolve any issue to trade in the coming weeks.
