Now to facilitate the safe return of children to schools, the Government has issued a series of social distancing measures which schools need to implement.

This includes practising good respiratory hygiene and enhanced cleaning procedures, like hand sanitiser stations in classrooms.

More regular hand-washing is advised with teaching staff told to ensure children wash their hands when they arrive at school, return from their break, change rooms and after eating.

Those who have symptoms of COVID-19, or are in a household with someone displaying symptoms, should be kept away from the school.

Break times are advised to be staggered, as well start and finishing times for pupils to ensure age groups are kept apart.
