Which areas in the UK have seen coronavirus cases rise?

Leicester is currently reported as the worst affected city by coronavirus infections with 1,476.5 confirmed cases for every 100,000 people in the region, an increase of 11 compared to Sunday.

The regions of Ashford, Blackburn with Darwen, Bradford and Oldham are the next worst affected regions with rates of 1,046, 1,041, 1,007 and 1,007 cases per 100,000 people respectively.

Ashford has seen the highest daily increase, but the region’s rate has remained the same as the day before.

Wrexham has a rate of 1,001 cases while Merthyr Tydfil is at 961 cases.

The area of Preston where restrictions were implemented last week has a rate of 908 cases per 100,000.

The latest figures reveal Barrow-in-Furness has a rate of 896 cases and Rochdale a rate of 893 cases.
