According to reports, residents in Scotland’s capital experienced a power cut at around 8.50pm this evening.
This has led to areas of the capital, Lothian and the borders being thrown into darkness.
SP Energy Networks, has confirmed engineers are now working to resolve the problem.
They said: “We are aware of a powercut in Edinburgh, Lothians.
“Our engineers are working to restore supplies. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
Although engineers are now working to restore power, it is unclear how long it will be before the problems is resolved.
