Prince Harry’s statement read: “For a year now, NHS workers have been engaged in a new kind of battle.

“They have consistently set-aside their own physical and emotional health in the service of others.

“It is from these shared experiences I hope people can find strength, compassion, and understanding, and the inspiration they need for their own recovery and resilience.”

Harry was also praised for the important message as fans rushed to show their support.

One Twitter user wrote: “So great to see different communities reach out to share their experiences and help. “Thank you! After the pandemic is gone, many frontline workers will have a long road ahead coping with the consequences of what they have been experiencing.”

Another put: “Well done and thank you for supporting NHS workers. They’ll need longterm support to help cope with the ongoing mental stress and anxiety they face particularly those who had dealt with unprecedented numbers of patient deaths.”
