Prior to being elected the Mayor of Liverpool, he was the leader of Liverpool City Council from the 2010 Council election until the 2012 Mayoral election.
Mr Anderson is the first Labour Party leader of Liverpool City Council since 1988.
He previously worked don the board of directors at Liverpool Vision, which was an urban regeneration company in the city.
The Liverpool Mayor is also a representative of Liverpool City Council as a member of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.
