Meghan Markle, 39, and Prince Harry, 36, stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family in March. Since then, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made media appearances, signed a deal with Netflix and launched their own Spotify podcast. Royal expert Dickie Arbiter said it is “extraordinary” that the couple are making these appearances after wanting privacy.

Speaking to True Royalty TV’s Royal Beat, Mr Arbiter said: “I find it extraordinary that two people who left basically because they felt press intrusion and yet in the past 12 months we’ve had nothing but drip-feeding the press about things that they’re doing.”

Royal expert Dan Wootton added: “It’s hard to believe that Megxit happened this year.

“The world has obviously gone through so much and also this couple has completely transformed.”

On the show, royal expert Katie Nicholl revealed Meghan and Harry have sent presents to the Cambridge children.

She said: “I don’t think they ever will be close in the same way that they were before.

“But I do think there have been nine months since Megxit and relations are better between them.

“I know that they are in touch, that they do talk.

“I know that Harry sent over a load of presents for the Cambridge children.

“I think there’s far more to this story that we don’t know on both sides.

“One of the things I said in my review is how Meghan kept saying Kate didn’t contact her.

“My view is if you’re the newbie, in a new job, you go to somebody and say, ‘hi, can we talk? I’d like to know more about what I’m marrying into’.

“She’s a smart, educated woman. She never put a foot wrong.”
