The Prince of Wales threw a Clarence House tea party for pilots and aircrew who fought in World War 2 and the topic soon turned to grandchildren. He reportedly claimed that Charlotte is “much easier on mum than Prince George” because she slept through the night as a baby. The event in 2015 was just a few months after Charlotte’s birth, but she was already sleeping better than George did.
One of the tea party guests, Geoff Bradley, said afterwards: “We were talking about grandchildren, he was saying Princess Charlotte does sleep through the night and it was much easier on mum than Prince George.”
Mr Bradley was invited along to the event because his wife Veronica as her father Owen Burns was a gunner in the Bristol Blenheim bombers.
At the time, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were looking after their new baby at their Norfolk home Anmer Hall, but must have been keeping Charles up to date with her development.
They had also recently released pictures of baby Charlotte cuddling up with her brother George.

William seemed to agree that Charlotte was a very sweet, easy baby.
While at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff ahead of the RBS 6 Nations Wales v France game in 2016, he said: “Charlotte is very easy, she is sweet.”
However, he added: “But all fathers say to me ‘just you wait, when they get to nine or 11, they get crazy.
“I’m looking forward to it. There will be some drama.”
“The idea of not being around to see your children grow up and stuff like that.”
William is not the only royal to be fawning over Charlotte however ‒ her great-grandmother, the Queen, is apparently absolutely smitten.
Kate told ITV’s Our Queen at Ninety in 2016: “The Queen was really thrilled that it was a little girl and I think as soon as we came back to Kensington, she was one of the first visitors there.
“The Queen is very fond of Charlotte and takes an interest in what she gets up to.”
George and Charlotte apparently call the Queen “Gan Gan” and enjoy little presents from her which she leaves out when they come to stay.
Since Charlotte’s birth, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, has had one more child: Prince Louis.
Louis is the first royal son to be born who is below his sister in the line of succession after the Succession to the Crown Act 2013 replaced the male-preference primogeniture with absolute primogeniture, meaning sons and daughters are on an equal footing and birth order is all that matters between siblings.
The royal children are all growing up fast, having all had a birthday in lockdown.
Prince George is seven, Princess Charlotte is five and Prince Louis is two.
Each had official photographs released so that the public could get a glimpse of them while most royal events were cancelled or postponed during the coronavirus crisis.
