Ingrid Seward told Sky News the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will “stay as they are” in California. She added that Prince Harry will come back to England to see his family but that he and Meghan Markle will never return as working members of the monarchy.

Ms Seward said: “I think they will stay as they are, I do not think they will come back here.

“Harry will obviously come back, they will come back the odd time.

“But they will certainly not ever again be working members of the Royal Family.”

During the same interview, the royal commentator outlined a mistake she felt the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made during their time in the monarchy.

She said: “I think the one mistake that Meghan made is she didn’t embrace the British people in a way that perhaps if Harry had helped her a little more, she could have done.

“She could have said, look, ‘I want you to see my baby but just not right now’.”

Ms Seward continued: “She could have had everyone eating out of her hand in a way that her late mother-in-law did, just by bringing people into her world.

“Instead, she shut people out of her world and that is where the rot began when people began to think this couple have no interest at all.”

Meghan Markle joined the Royal Family after marrying Prince Harry in May 2018.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the monarchy at the end of March 2020.

Since leaving the Royal Family the couple have moved to California with their son Archie.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have also signed lucrative deals with both Netflix and Spotify since walking away from royal life.
