The Spanish Royal Family is currently on a holiday in Mallorca, but it seems as if Sofia suffered an ailment causing her some discomfort. On Monday, Queen Letizia and King Felipe VI were accompanied by their daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, as they took a tour of Palma de Mallorca. During the tour, the monarchs and their daughters visited the birthplace and museum of Junipero Serra Ferrer, an 18th century Franciscan friar.

But Sofia suffered a fall at Marivent Palace, the family’s summer home, at the start of their holidays on the island on Sunday.

She did not go to hospital but her wound required five stitches, according to Spanish magazine Hola!.

Despite the seriousness of her injury, the young royal was seen in good spirits.

Princess Leonor supported her sister as they walked around the town surrounded by royal fans.

During the tour, the family was joined by crowds of people wearing face masks.

Sofia wore a Zara jumpsuit and blue sandals, as well as a face mask.

The Embassy of Spain in the US shared a tweet explaining the reason for the royals’ visit to English-speaking royal fans.

The tweet read: “The King and Queen of Spain and their daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, visit Fray Junípero Serra’s birth place in Majorca.

A third user just added: “Poor thing!”

Someone else claimed that ”she hurt it somehow and had 5 stitches. That is all I can find out.”

But it is not the first time fans have spotted an injury on the Infanta.

In 2017, Sofia attended an event to mark Spain’s Hispanic Day wearing a bandage around her right wrist.

Despite wearing long sleeves, the injury was swiftly spotted by onlookers as she was greeting people.
