Monaco

Monaco is one of the wealthiest nations in the world and is funded through taxpayers.

The royal house of Monaco received £40.7m ($54.4m) in 2020, according to the principality’s official budget.

Of that, £10.9m ($14.6million) went to Monaco’s Prince Albert II, while the rest covers the administration, staff and palace maintenance costs.

The Netherlands

The Dutch Royal Family is headed by King Willem-Alexander and his wife Queen Maxima.

The monarch receives an annual stipend which is part of the annual budget.

In 2020 the monarchy received £39.5m (€44.4m) according to the family’s official website, of which the king receives £5.3 (€5.9m).
