Yorkshire news: Police launch appeal following BRUTAL murder | UK | News (Reports)

Police Officers were called to a Farmwoods shop on Wath Road at around 5pm on Monday following reports of a shooting. A man believed to be in his 20s is understood to have died at the scene.

Eye-witnesses described a heavy response from the emergency services.

One witness said the scene was “utter chaos” with police officers, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue officers and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service allegedly present.

South Yorkshire Police have issued an appeal for anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Police were called to Wath Road, Mexborough, at 4.46pm today following reports of a shooting.

“Officers are currently at the scene as investigations continue.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information which may help the investigation, is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 495 of 11 January 2021.”
