Enterprises need fresh thinking on business continuity

PoliticMag Press Release : September 22, 2020

After the global pandemic exposed many organisations’ business continuity plans as tick-box exercises with little or no value in a real crisis, the team at KedronUK set to work on a new way for leaders to oversee the health of their enterprise.

The Staffordshire-based monitoring specialists have now launched Business Continuity Dashboards designed to aid enterprise recovery in the wake of Covid-19. The customisable dashboards give business leaders full visibility of the data they care , from IT service availability to productivity metrics and commercials. A simple traffic light system indicates overall business health.

Data sources might include VPN data, application availability software, HR software and phone systems. Financial data can be linked from accounting and online ordering systems, and made available only to certain stakeholders as appropriate.

Justin Pounds, Business Development Director at KedronUK commented: “If we’re talking lessons learned, the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted that enterprises need fresh thinking when it comes to business continuity. The dashboards we’ve developed connect and visualise business intelligence and IT performance data in a way that hasn’t been seen before. The metrics we’re tracking are not typically found on IT monitoring dashboards, but they will be invaluable to business leaders planning for the future.”

Phil Swainson, Head of Technical Services at KedronUK commented: “The feedback we’ve had from business leaders is that they need to be able to measure the success of their business continuity strategy. By joining multiple data types from multiple sources we can give an overall Business Continuity Score based on what’s important to a specific business.”
