Prince William surprised two Liverpool locals with a Zoom call to discuss how they were feeling during Tier 3 lockdown. Managing Director of LEAF, Natalie Haywood and nightclub DJ Yousef Zaher spoke on BBC Breakfast following their conversation with the Duke last Friday. They praised Prince William for his understanding attitude and desire to know how the two business owners were coping during lockdown.

Ms Haywood said: “We got a phone call out of the blue last Friday and It was a request to join the Duke for a call.

“I was completely shocked and initially thought it was a hoax.

“I was completely floored and amazed he could give us his time to listen to what is going on in the ground in Liverpool.

“He spent 45 minutes talking to us in a private Zoom.”

Mr Zaher also praised the conversation he had with the Duke of Cambridge and his overall attitude towards the pair of them.

Mr Zaher said: “Prince William was asking questions essentially about our situation in Liverpool and the difficulties we have been experiencing since the beginning of lockdown.

“He was just calm and compassionate and asked some really poignant questions.”

The DJ also praised Prince William’s desire to know the very uncensored details about life under lockdown.

Mr Zaher answered: “Yes I do, I think that is what the call was all about.

“Rather than have a filtered version, he wanted to just speak to people on the ground.

“When he was having a long conversation with Natalie, I was looking at his face and he was taking it in.

“You could see the squirms and the compassion on his face when we were speaking, he really meant it and cared.”
